I have started a new business adventure. I am calling it "Portraits for Modern People". It will be all things portraits but initially I am focusing on the part of the business where I do live drawing at events. Went to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, a desert botanical garden that I hadn't ever been to. It's a ways out of Phoenix but definitely worth it. Sketched some and took pictures of their plants for sale. Here's a sketch, here's a watercolor from the experience.
So I voted in the Primary in Phoenix on March 22. It turned out to be a giant fiasco for voting but worked out for me because I brought my sketchbook. I could tell the line was going to be long and with a lot of people standing around I thought it would be a perfect time to sketch people. It turns out there was a lot of time to sketch people, 3 1/2 hours to be exact. Through a friend of a friend the drawings I made were published in the AZ Republic, and then again today on the website Frank 151. Here are the links:
