Happy Presidents Day! "Ronald Reagan"
watercolor on paper, 8" x 10". When I was a kid my sister and I had a U.S. President's pencil box and a U.S. Capitols pencil box. I loved these things and developed a lifelong love of that kind of easy U.S. History. Anyway I ended up starting an exclusive U.S. President's sketchbook a few years ago. I only have about 10 in there but so far Ronald Reagan made the cut. I must admit that I am not a fan of his presidency or of his movies but I do find it really interesting that his career included both.

"Griffith Park Excavator"

oil on panel, 6" x 6".

As a mother of a young boy I have begun to notice the beauty in construction vehicles, and garbage trucks and a whole lot of things that I never really noticed before hanging out with the little guy. is an ode to that beauty. This excavator hung out near the griffith park train and horse rides the entire time we were in LA this summer. It is mammoth (we all got in the scoop and hung out) and orange and really cool looking.

Kid Thing

This summer I was asked by my friend David Zellner to make a painting that would possibly be used for a movie poster. They gave me a few stills, I made it, and it was used! The movie played Sundance and will be coming to SXSW in March plus the Berlin Film Festival! David and his brother Nathan are truly original and amazing filmmakers so if you have the chance you should check out their web page and order their last feature "Goliath" (which my sister Caroline starred in) from Netflix.

The movie is Kid Thing.
The filmmakers are the Zellner Brothers.
The designer of the poster is Kurt Volk.

And here it is:
